The word itself simply means unknown knowledge, hardly a mind blowing statement but one that will suffice for now. In the cold light of day though this term has more depths than a fathomless ocean, it can encompass huge tracts of mind and imagination and show a side to the human psyche that usually remains hidden.
I will go so far as to say the occult is about the unknown or hidden parts of our own minds, it can encompass the minds ability to change the reality around itself in both normal and paranormal ways.
But the occult can truly be split into a number of areas in a more traditional sense. First there is Ritual Magick which itself encompasses many belief system from Wicca to Paganism, but the ritual itself is the important word here. A second area is that of Tools, those for divination, prophecy, clairvoyance and psychic abilities. A third point is that the occult encompasses Paranormal Energies.
These three areas will be examined separately. As a word though, the occult itself has come to mean anything from Devil worship to the useage of Tarot cards or herbs for healing. But I believe it is essentially a hidden part of our minds that actually comes to the fore in some people making them natural magicians.
A Natural Magician is somebody who can without props, robes, strange mutterings or even stranger hair, just set about their life in a way that allows them to accomplish everything they set their minds to. They can seemingly get whatever they want from reality by shaping it to their own ends. They may be completely oblivious to their powers but they are magicians. They have powers to shape the very fabric of space to meet their own ends and it is they who most interest me here.
To become a natural magician you must be able to send thoughts within your head out into the real world of matter and give to it enough energy for it to manifest in reality. So how do you do this, how do you avoid all the disappointments and dead ends that most people follow and instead create a glittering path paved with granted dreams far into the future.
